FTP Access
You can access your account via File Transfer Protocol (FTP) 24 hours a day, every day of the year. You can upload your site using FTP, or you can use the Web5star Control Panel instead. We include multiple FTP access accounts as part of our hosting packages.

Sub Domains
We include an allowance for multiple Sub Domains in each of our hosting plans. Subdomains are a way of creating separate accounts within your master account, which are accessed as separate URLs. For example, you could set up a "secure" subdomain on your master account "mydomain.com", which would be accessed as "secure.yourdomain.com". A Sub Domain is really a sub folder within the public_http level of your account that has it's own cgi-bin directory.

E-mail Accounts
We will set you up to receive email messages at you@yourdomain.com  Our Hello World, Personal Advantage, Business Domination and Corporate Supremacy accounts come with extra POP3 email boxes. 

Unlimited Email Addresses (Aliases)
We set up your main email account so that any mail sent to an unrecognised user at your domain is delivered to your main email address.  This can be very useful because it means you can use many different email aliases without actually having to set them up explicitly. You can also give any email account an unlimited number of email aliases so that when mail is sent to, say, an_alias@yourname.com  then you will receive the email at, say, colleague@yourname.com (a real mailbox).  Email aliases can be set up very easily through our control panel.

Autoresponders
Autoresponders are a great marketing tool and can save you time answering common questions.  You can set up an autoresponder so that when a message is sent to, say, info@yourname.com, then your pre-written message is automatically returned to the sender.  All our hosting packages allow you to set up an unlimited number of autoresponders.

Email Forwarding
You can choose to forward your email to a different email account anywhere on the web.  This is easily achieved through our control panel.

Mailman Subscribable Mailing List
Mailman is a program which automates the management of Internet mailing lists.  Commands are sent to Majordomo via electronic mail to handle all aspects of list maintainance. Once a list is set up, virtually all operations can be performed remotely, requiring no intervention upon the postmaster of the list site. We have included a generous number of subscribable mailing lists in our hosting plans (with up to 1,000 subscribers for each list).

World Class "Control Panel"
Our world class Control Panel offers the best site management tools in the business. Also, the Control Panel can display its information in 20 different languages.

Programming Languages and Development Tools
Our servers support Perl V5.8.8, PHP V5.2.13 and FrontPage 98/2000/2002 extensions.  Your web pages can also include Java applets (though not Java servlets). Crontab access (UNIX command to execute scheduled tasks at a specified time) is allowed only in our Business Domination and Corporate Supremacy plans.

Fantastico - Scrip Installer
Use Fantastico to automatically install any of the scripts listed below. Installing any script will use one of your available MySQL databases. Removing any script will free up one of your used MySQL databases.

Detailed Usage Statistics
We generate daily statistical data about your site's traffic.  A Windows' base report will include information about visitors, page views, file accesses, referrers, browsers used by your visitors, platforms used by your visitors, visitors' hosts, visitors' top-level domains, and the most common entry and exit pages.  These reports are among the most detailed and useful around, but you will also have access to your raw log files in case you want to examine the data further (raw log files available to Business and Corporate plans only).

Server Side Includes
Server side includes are a neat and simple way of repeating blocks of HTML code in different web pages.  The file containing the repetitive HTML code can be included in any page(s) you like with only one line of HTML code (a server side include statement).

Customized Error 404 Missing Document Page
When a visitor to your site tries to access a page that does not exist, they will usually receive Apache's default Error 404: File Not Found message. If you prefer you can set up your account so that your own customized 'missing document' page is displayed instead, perhaps with a link to your home page (or whatever you like).

Password Protected Directories
You can restrict access to any directory on your site so that visitors are prompted for a user name and password in order to access any files in the directory.

Secure Server (SSL)
We provide our generic secure server access so that you can receive payments and transmit information securely via the web. For a dedicated secure server access you will need to supply your SSL Certificate details prior to setting up the hosting account for you so that we can install it with an assigned IP address. Secure Server access can be added to our other web hosting accounts (except for Hello World) for a small setup and monthly fee.

Domain Name Registration
To get your own domain name (ie: www.yourname.com) you need to register the name through an authorised registrar. We are authorised to register .com .net .org .biz .info .tv .cn .cn.com asia .cc .ca and .us domain names. We can also register Australian domain names (ie: yourname.com.au) including net.au org.au asn.au and id.au - as well as United Kingdom domains co.uk org.uk and me.uk - Please visit our Domain Registration services for additional details.
